Late last year I got a promotion – I was going to manage a team of six research analysts. Up until then, I had been part of that team.
A few months in, I have learned a lot. I learned what to do and what not to do. More often than not, I learned by making mistakes. It has been a painful but rewarding journey.
I decided to write about my experience. Both for myself – it is so easy to forget where we started and how far we’ve come – but also for anyone who might benefit from this. Maybe I’ll save you a few blunders, and maybe I even inspire you to be the best leader you possibly can be.
